Dhongde Elected to IARIW Council

Associate Professor, Shatakshee Dhongde, has been elected to the Council of the International Association of Research in Income and Wealth (IARIW).
The IARIW is one of the oldest and largest associations in the field of Economics of Measurement. It has nearly 500 members from 50 different countries. The association publishes the highly reputed journal, the Review of Income and Wealth. It also organizes multiple conferences in the general area of income and wealth across different countries. To be elected on the Council, individuals need to be nominated by multiple members (no self-nomination) and are then voted by the general membership. Dhongde will serve the Council for a period of four years.
Dhongde is a well-known scholar in the field of Economic Measurement. She is also a Fellow at the Society for Economic Measurement (SEM). Dhongde has published several papers on measuring poverty, inequality, and multidimensional deprivation. Her research paper “Well-being, Deprivation, and the Great Recession in the U.S.: A Study in a Multidimensional Framework,” co-authored with P. Pattanaik and Y. Xu was published in the Review of Income and Wealth (2019).
