School of Economics Scholarships

School of Economics Merit Scholarships

The School of Economics annually awards a number of scholarships. To be eligible for one of these scholarships, a student must be a declared Economics, Economics and International Affairs, or Global Economics and Modern Languages major and have completed twelve semester hours of economics. Selection is based completely on merit, defined in terms of academic performance as well as leadership and involvement in School of Economics activities and organizations. There are five $1,000 scholarships available exclusively to members of Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) and the School offers several additional scholarships of up to $2,500. No application is required. Recipients will be notified by June 30th each year.

Joel V. O’Neal Scholarship

This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior majoring in Economics, Economics and International Affairs, or Global Economics and Modern Languages. Up to four scholarships per year are awarded.  Selection is based completely on merit, defined in terms of academic performance as well as leadership and involvement in SOE activities and organizations. Applications are due by May 31st and recipients will be notified by June 30th each year.  Please turn in completed applications to Tony Gallego in the School of Economics office.
