Undergraduate Scholarships

Richard B. Inman Jr. Undergraduate Scholarship

This award recognizes outstanding students based on an equal weighting of coursework, research, and leadership activity.

  • Eligibility: Students with a declared major in ECON, EIA, or GEML

  • How to Apply: Students are typically nominated by faculty during finals in the Fall semester, but self-nominations are accepted following the process announced by the Director of Undergraduate Programs.

  • Deadline: January 31

Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship supports active members of the ODE international honor society for economics.

  • Eligibility: Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) members majoring in ECON, EIA, or GEML

  • Award: Up to $1,000 for members joining two semesters prior to graduation; up to $500 for those joining one semester prior.

  • Deadline: May 15


Master’s Fellowships

Joe Owens Fellowship for Master’s Students

This fellowship is for candidates to the M.S. program who demonstrate exceptional academic potential and a clear sense of purpose.

  • Eligibility: All admitted applicants to the M.S. Economics program are automatically considered.

  • How to Apply: No separate application is required; the MS Committee conducts a holistic review of admission materials during the recruitment cycle.


Doctoral Fellowships

Owens First-Year Fellowship

This fellowship supports incoming Ph.D. students who demonstrate high academic qualifications and research interests that align with the School’s faculty.

  • Eligibility: Incoming Ph.D. applicants who are not externally funded.

  • How to Apply: Candidates are automatically evaluated during the standard Ph.D. application review and interview process.

Wylder Ph.D. Dissertation Fellowship

This fellowship provides direct support for a specific research project intended for inclusion in a student's dissertation.

  • Eligibility: Ph.D. students in their second, third, or fourth year.

  • How to Apply: Submit a research proposal to the Ph.D. committee. Proposals are scored based on feasibility and publication potential.

  • Deadline: End of the Fall semester
