Economics Faculty Honored at 2022 Faculty and Staff Awards

Academic Professional Aselia Urmanbtova and Professor Danny Hughes were among those celebrated for their achievements at the annual Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts Faculty and Staff Awards on April 27. 

“We have come out of quite a challenging last two years, and each of us has stepped up to work harder, adjust quickly and collaborate more in an effort to carry out the mission of Ivan Allen College in what we do each and every day,” Dean Kaye Husbands Fealing said during the virtual celebration.

Faculty and staff were recognized in four categories, including the Buzz Awards for Staff and Academic Professionals; Distinguished Faculty Teaching Awards for tenure-track faculty and non-tenure-track faculty; Faculty Excellence in Research Award; and the Faculty Research Awards for the Silver Star, Gold Star, and Million Dollar Club. This years honorees are:

 

Buzz Awards for Administrative Service

The Buzz Award recognizes distinguished service from staff members. 

  • Greg Abrams, financial analyst III, Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts
  • Neta Kanny, academic program manager, School of Modern Languages
  • Melanie Richard, academic and research support engineer senior, Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts
  • John Thornton, senior academic professional and director of film and media, School of Literature, Media, and Communication

 

Buzz Awards for Student Service

  • Alice Favero, academic professional and interim director of graduate studies, School of Public Policy

Gold Star Awards
