Overview

He (Charles) Zhang is a third year Ph.D. student in the School of Economics. He is also a teaching assistant in the School of Economics. Before coming to Georgia Tech, he previously was a budget analyst in the Pan American Health Organization, which is the branch of the World Health Organization in Americas. He received his MBA in Finance and Healthcare Management from Johns Hopkins University in 2015 and  his LLB and BS in Finance in 2013 from Nanjing University, China.

His primary research interests include Industrial Organization, Applied Econometrics and Law and Economics. Apart from his primary interests, he is also interested in research regarding Risk Management and Asset Pricing. Besides his work experience with the WHO, when he was in college, he was a part-time marketing analyst in AIA, which was the branch of AIG in China and completed internships in law firms.

His hope is to figure out solutions to ethical and legal problems in goods and capital markets by leveraging fundamental economic principles. Outside of his studies at Georgia Tech, Charles enjoys playing violin, hiking, and badminton.
