Shatakshee Dhongde has been appointed as a Fellow with the Society for Economic Measurement.

Associate Professor, Shatakshee Dhongde, has been appointed as a Fellow with the Society for Economic Measurement. The Society for Economic Measurement (SEM) promotes research on economic measurement, using advanced tools from economic theory, econometrics, aggregation theory, experimental economics, mathematics, and statistics.
Dhongde has published several papers on measuring poverty, inequality, and multidimensional deprivation. Her research paper “Well-being, Deprivation, and the Great Recession in the U.S.: A Study in a Multidimensional Framework,” co-authored with P. Pattanaik and Y. Xu was published in the Review of Income and Wealth (2019). Previously, her article, “Multi-dimensional Deprivation in the U.S ” co-authored with R. Haveman, in Social Indicators Research (2017) was the first to measure multidimensional poverty in the United States over a long period of time. She has presented her research at several national and international conferences including at the World Bank and the United Nations.
